School Kids

We were hired by a major publishing company to come up with four junior high kids for a quick presentation. I believe it's safe to post these now. Here are the girls--I'll post the boy characters next week.

This was my first true project utilizing my new Cintiq for the sketches and PSD touch-ups. The art director made slight alterations to the sketches. She wanted the girls to look older and more hip. Typically, we're told not to go into this realm when it comes to kids products. Also, the poses were switched. But for the most part, you can see that our designs translated to the final 3D character. We had one week to get the four characters done. There were no changes on our first round of 3D and everyone was ecstatic.
