AllState Insurance Cartoon Project

I did a cartoon project for Ogilvy & Mather awhile back and I'm just now getting it on the blog. This artwork was created for an AllState Insurance web banner to communicate that one does not have to reveal one's identity while shopping for auto insurance. On the site, multiple sections of each face randomly mix with other faces creating a fun character puzzle.

I did a few quick grids for the art director and web designer so they could decide how many animated sections they wanted to mix. I had to make sure the face sections lined-up--so I was very limited with the head shapes and certain facial features.

The art was done in Adobe Illustrator CS2. I spent 3-4 hours doing pencils for 6 characters and approximately 5-7 hours creating each digital cartoon image. The final art was emailed to Ogilvy ahead of schedule.
